scoop loader surprise.

Austin sat in this window all morning, completely mesmerized by the dump truck and tractor (or scoop loader as he so lovingly refers) bringing and spreading around top soil in our yard. Not to be out done, Burke loves a good tractor just as much as Austin. They are two peas in a pod really. I couldn't resist taking a couple shots of them looking out the window in awe. Our yard is almost ready for seed, the curbing guy is coming monday and then we are good to go. The yard has been an enormous project...just ask cam. ;D But we will be so glad to actually have some yard of our own to go and play in. I am amazed at what a green thumb my hubby has. He was bred to have an immaculate yard, so really it isn't that surprising. He has raked and raked and raked until every last rock, bump, blemish has disappeared from the landscape. All I can say is, good job cam. Well done.

Zions Canyon

After Vegas and the dam, we decided to have a relaxing couple of days in St. George. as relaxing as vacationing with your family can be...kidding family. sort of. We spent a couple of hours up Zions Canyon, golfed Dixi Red Hills, ate a lot of good food, and did some baking in the sun. I forced my family to try a hibachi grill, and I thought it was delicious - their reaction, so so. They are Chili's folk. All in all, it was a nice little get away with some great company.

A Dam Trip...

So a sort of spontaneous family excursion to the Hoover Dam last week produced these pics. It was an impressive sight to see; the new bridge that is being constructed is going to divert the highway away from the dam. The bridge is 900+ feet above the river bed below, and it is a pretty massive bridge. The dam is only about 30 minutes from Vegas, so if you are ever there, it is worth the detour - once at least. ;)

New Easter Clothes

Austin's new Easter clothes...I seriously couldn't pass up on the purple argyle...he has a tie on that matches, and his socks are my favorite part - they go up to his knees. He could totally pull of the PGA look with this one.

Eagle Mania

I wanted to give a quick shout out to my awesome little brother for getting his eagle project done last week. He lead a group of 100+ in a clean up project of the Hyde Park canyon. We filled that dump truck to the brim with old tvs, a fridge, tons of little shells, ect. It looked so much better after everyone left. I wish people would clean up after themselves. Good job Speni!!

This is austin with his Easter basket the night before Easter. We dyed eggs and put them in the basket for the Easter bunny. The Easter bunny LOVES hard boiled eggs, but oddly enough, our fridge smelled of hard boiled eggs for the next two days. The Easter bunny must have forgot and left them in the fridge. Silly bunny.

Our Newest Creation

Here are a couple of pics of the mirror we made a little while back. The one that comes with the bedroom set was $250, so we decided to try our hands at mirror-making. This cost us ~$80 to make. Next mirror project will be for a mirror over the mantel, but it will be stained instead of painted. FUN!



Cam and I...well, mostly Cam, but I lent my creative touch, made this mirror a little while back with the new miter saw we got for Christmas.
