The Big Boy Turns 4!

This is Austin's cake; he has been infatuated with all things deer and cabins so that was the theme I went with this year.  The little animals came from a gift shop at Yellowstone when we were there visiting a couple years ago.  There was a lot of frosting on this baby - YUM!
The cozy coupe trailer courtesy of Uncle Benster - Austin LOVED this.  Uncle Benster also got him the matching gas station for Christmas!
A huge set of lincoln logs from Grandma and Grandpa Daines!  Now he can build his own cabins.
Chainsaw from Grandma and Grandpa Seamons.  This will complete is collection of yard work tools.
Grandma and Grandpa Seamons also got him a John Deere Gator with headlights that turn on!  Austin is a big John Deere fan.
Uncle Chiki and Aunt Kirsten and Hannah, Livi, and Tyler got him his first computer!  I think he's gotten even smarter in the past couple hours!
Uncle Jer and Aunt Kim got him his first Jazz Basketball hoop!  Sweet! Now only if they'd win a couple...
And Mom and Dad got him a bike!  It's a little big right now at 16", but he'll grow into it pretty quickly.  The other size they had was a 12" and it fit him perfectly right now but by summer it'd be too small.  We got it at Bingham Cyclery in Sunset.  They even threw in a free bell to go with it!  Austin thought this came from Santa...apparently we are still a little hazy on the line between Christmas and Birthday.  Oh well, one of the joys of being a December baby I guess.

Austin is intently watching and helping dad put his trailer together.  This kid is going to be a good handyman when he grows up thanks to dad.
Little Bro didn't want to be left out of all the action.  Here he is taking a spin in the trailer.

Happy Birthday Buddy!  Boy are we glad you are in our family, you make life so fun and exciting; don't know what we'd do without ya!

The Lights at Temple Square

Since we haven't been to see the lights in a long time, we decided to go on the 29th and check temple square out.  Cam and I haven't been in at least 4 or 5 years and it is quite a bit different now.  They don't light the big trees so it isn't nearly as spectacular as I remember it being...kind of sad.  We hit up our favorite family restaurant (much to Cam's dismay; it's a Daines thing) - The Spaghetti Factory - where Gma, Gpa, Spencer, Me, and Austin all got the same thing...the Mizithra Spaghetti - YUM.  Then we went to see the lights.  Fun time with the family!

Tub Time

For efficiency sake we tub two at a time these days.  It is much faster and then I can keep an eye on big brother as he does not like to keep the bath water inside the tub very often.  Hopefully Aiden will be a water bug because Austin is definitely his dad's son and prefers frozen water rather than swimmable water....is that a good comparison?

which is which?

Thought I would do a post on the similarities between the boys.  People ask all the time if they looked alike as babies and I really think they do.

Christmas 2011!

This year we spent Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma Daines's house.  I was sick with the flu on Christmas Eve and then by the 26th Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Benster had it (way worse than I did).  Two days later Austin got it but it only lasted about 6 hours for him.  Cam was the first to get it the week before Christmas and was nice enough to share with the rest of us.  But somehow we were all feelin' pretty good on Christmas day.  Austin got a leaf blower, real tool set, 1600 piece lego set (what was Santa thinking?!), puzzle, tickle monster book (so cute), Melissa and Doug stuff, cash register, and a wallet.  Aiden got a sock monkey, plush tool set, and a little plush baby alligator that he loves to eat.  Cam got me an awesome new camera bag that will hold everything (and more!) and he got a new fancy phone (a couple of weeks ago).  Gma and Gpa gave us a new toaster, X-Box Kinect (so fun!), and other misc stuff.  Uncle Spencer made me a jewelry box which was awesome.  It was a blast and of course Grandma out did herself on the food - especially Christmas morning.  I look forward to that every year because she makes some amazing breakfast dishes.  Stuffed blueberry french toast with home made blueberry drizzle - YUM!  I love Christmas and I can't believe that it is already over...all that preparation for 4 hours...sheesh.  Until next year...

Goofin' Around

We went up to Grandma and Grandpa Seamons' on Christmas Eve to show them the Christmas jammies Ziggy (our elf on the shelf) brought and it turned into a mini photo op on the floor.  We love Grandma Trudy and Grandpa Brad!  So cute!
