I've been dying to try a couple cupcake recipes that I have, and there were a couple of coworkers with birthdays coming up, so I decided there wasn't a better time to try. I made red velvet with a whip cream - cream cheese frosting and camouflage yellow buttermilk cupcakes with a vanilla frosting. They turned out delicious...maybe a little too delicious...my sweet tooth has returned with a vengeance!
This last weekend was county fair time in Logan. It's always a big event full of great food, good music, and crazy people. We went and saw the pigs and sheep, listened to some country group, and had delicious homemade scones with honey butter - there is a reason the fair only comes around once a year...otherwise I would pack on 25lbs of scone weight ;) Lovin' Summer!
We decided to visit Utah's one and only amusement park last Friday. Perfect day - not a cloud in the sky. Kim, Jer, and Spen-dog decided to join us for the festivities. Cam's um...not much for amusement parks so he built a fence instead. What a trade.
Austin has now decided that he must eat his breakfast outside on the back porch every morning. Burke is always watching that cereal like a hawk...and Austin has no idea that at any moment his food could be snatched away.
I found this cute little gem deep in the depths of my favorite pictures folder. I made a couple little adjustments to it and wala, I bet you didn't even know it was cam. The reason why I had to add a vintage pic is because I was giving Austin a bath tonight and he was laughing at me, and all of a sudden I could see was a mini-cam in his face with a huge, dimply grin. It was so cute; it is crazy how much they look like each other. Grandma Trudy, do you concur?? ;-)
This one was taken the night before "hat day" at work. Yes, I am a business professional who's employer likes to have frequent dress up days - just like in middle school - every now and then. It adds a little flava to the work atmosphere. Anyway, Austin voted on the umbrella hat over the ski-bum beenie. 
Haha, I know I shouldn't laugh, but sometimes seeing a little terrible two's monster cry (he's really mad - I can tell) makes me smile - and not in a devious way. ;-) He was most likely mad because is bothersome mom was trying to take a picture of him wearing a silly, annoying tie. In the words of Stephanie Tanner, "How Rude!"
Austin sat in this window all morning, completely mesmerized by the dump truck and tractor (or scoop loader as he so lovingly refers) bringing and spreading around top soil in our yard. Not to be out done, Burke loves a good tractor just as much as Austin. They are two peas in a pod really. I couldn't resist taking a couple shots of them looking out the window in awe. Our yard is almost ready for seed, the curbing guy is coming monday and then we are good to go. The yard has been an enormous project...just ask cam. ;D But we will be so glad to actually have some yard of our own to go and play in. I am amazed at what a green thumb my hubby has. He was bred to have an immaculate yard, so really it isn't that surprising. He has raked and raked and raked until every last rock, bump, blemish has disappeared from the landscape. All I can say is, good job cam. Well done.
